Requests...Very Important...Please Read
For continuity when setting the quilt together:
I ask that you take any of the fabrics that you use in your block (preferably something solid or without much pattern) and send me a block measuring 13" square (or bigger if you'd rather) along with your finished block.
Elen may be using her machine to quilt rat terrier figures like 2005's quilt on the empty blocks instead of another design. That's why those squares should be relatively plain, so that the dog outlines will show up on them.
If you'd like to, you can also send scraps of usable size (let's say no smaller than 5 inches, although they don't have to be square) and we MAY use those as part of a border near the outer edge of the quilt, depending on it's size once we start piecing it all together.
Any material left over will be kept for next year's project should there be one, and I'll forward it on to whoever does it next year if I don't.
Please do not set your blocks on point:
Blocks should set in the quilt top-bottom, side-side...not in the diamond shape with points at the top, bottom and sides.
You can have a smaller square set on point within your square as some folks did last year and that's fine, but the outside edge should allow for being set into the quilt as a square, not a diamond.
Make sure that
your block finishes out at 13" raw, to be cut to
12" finished.
If you don't know what I mean, please email me and I'll try to better explain it.
